Notes for adapting
For younger groups…
Act out a role play of the different characters in the story as it is being told.
For older groups…
Read Ephesians 2:4-10 and discuss the challenge of getting the right balance between working hard and depending solely on grace, and not measuring worth by performance and/or achievements.
For churched young people…
The group could meditate on Psalm 139:23-24 before spending time praying for their unsaved friends and wider community.
For unchurched young people…
Retell the story of the criminals on the cross (Luke 23:32-43), link it to the story of the workers in the field, and discuss the contrasting attitudes.
